Obituary of Charlotte Jones
Peacefully, with her family by her side, in hospital in Ottawa on Friday, March 3rd 2023, just four days short of her 83rd birthday Charlotte went to be with her Lord. Charlotte Wilson was the beloved wife of Allan Jones for 59 years. Dear mother of Lydia (Randy) Palm and Scott (Michelle). Proud Grandma of Robin Jones who is in her final year at Lakehead University in Thunder Bay. Predeceased by her parents Lila and Edmund Wilson and her sisters Joan (late Bill) Carley, Anne (late Rae) Armstrong, and Susan (Wayne) Poapst.
She was born in Merrickville, Ontario and upon graduation from high school in Kemptville, moved to Ottawa where she lived rest of her life. After attending business college, she worked in the Federal Public Service and the Civil Service Federation. When Lydia and Scott came along, she decided to be a stay-at-home Mom and was focused on raising her children to be the accomplished and respected adults that they are today. She had a strong faith in Jesus as her Savior and her church was an important part of her life where lasting memories and friendships were made. Many enjoyable summer days were spent at the family cottage on the Mississippi River near Lanark and winters were a time to ride the snowmobile trails.
Family and friends were invited to visit at Cole Funeral Services & Pinecrest Remembrance, 2500 Baseline Road, Ottawa on Wednesday, March 8, 2023 from 2:00 p.m. - 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. A Funeral Service has taken place at Arlington Woods Free Methodist Church, 225 McClellan Rd, Nepean, on Thursday, March 9, 2023, 10:30 a.m. A time of fellowship and refreshments followed in the Church Hall.
