Obituary of Mary Jane Seguin
It is with a heavy heart that we announce the passing of our dear mother Mary-Jane Seguin (nee MacDonald) peacefully in her home on March 17th, 2023, at the age of 87. She joins her late husband Aldege (1931 to 1994) and is predeceased by her parents Daniel and Mable MacDonald. Her brothers, Reginald, Joe and Arnold (Andrea) and her sisters Marie and Lorraine. She leaves to mourn her brother Garry (Louisa) along with her children Yvonne (Kim Arnott), Daniel (Linda Payne), Karen Adamson (MacDonald), Rejean, Brian (Louise Trottier), Michael (Kathy Fosty) and Ann-Marie.
She was predeceased by two grandchildren, Kim Seguin (Brian and Louise) and Patrick Seguin (Michael and Manon). Also mourning her loss are 12 grandchildren, Marie-Josee (Luc) and Steven Dionne, Angie (Ben) and Kevin Seguin, Justine, Thalia, Daniel and Haley Seguin, Vanessa Seguin, Karalyne (Lucas) and A.J. Fosty, Kate McLennan, 7 Great Grandchildren and one Great Great grandchild along with many cousins, nieces, nephews and friends who will miss her dearly.
Her compassionate heart was well suited to her work at the Glen Nevis Retirement home as a caregiver, a team counselor with Cedars community living through ARC Industries and a home health care provider with the Canadian Red Cross. She loved helping others and was always supportive and encouraging to her family and her community. She faced life with strength and kindness.
In accordance with her wishes there will be an internment service in Alexandria at the Sacred Heart cemetery later this year where she will be laid to rest alongside her husband. Donations in her memory may be sent to your local homeless shelter.
