Obituary of Christine Anne Desgroseilliers

Christine Anne Desgroseilliers passed away tragically yet peacefully on March 22, 2023, after a car accident at 26. She was surrounded by her family at Kelowna General Hospital and leaves a legacy of compassion and generosity, as her final gift was to donate her organs and save six lives.

Christine was the beloved daughter of Andy Desgroseilliers and Anne Wightman and the loving partner of Nathan Siydock. She was a cherished sister to Daniel (Addie), Michelle (Sylvia) and Andrea (Tom) and a beloved granddaughter of Beryl Wightman (Frank).

She will be missed by her treasured nieces, Mae and Etta and her nephew Martin, as well as her cousins Brett, Nicole, Brooke, Pelly, Nora and Claire. She was a much-loved niece to Claire (Tino), Jane (Trevor), Peter (Wendy), and John (Sue).

Christine was a beautiful woman known for her infectious laughter, goofy sense of humour, outgoing spirit and wanderlust. With the biggest smile she would point to the beauty and awe in the world around her for everyone to see.  Christine's angelic voice brought beauty to the world and continues to ring out her love to God in the Heavens.

Christine understood life was an adventure and a gift from God to be enjoyed, and always knew she had a travel companion in Jesus.  Christine's faith and character grew deeply alongside her friends at InterVarsity UOttawa, Camp IAWAH, and Pacific Pioneer Camp. As an adult, Christine found immense joy in exploring the great outdoors across Canada, seeking new experiences and living life to the fullest as a budding world traveller with any friend or family who was willing to share the adventure with her.

Professionally, Christine was a compassionate and dedicated ER nurse at the Ottawa Hospital, Civic Campus and a travel nurse in northern British Columbia. Her commitment to helping others was felt by everyone she worked with and cared for. She touched all she met along the way with her sparkle and positive light.

The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to Lindsey, her nurse in the Kelowna General Hospital ICU, for her compassion and support during this unbelievably difficult time.

A Celebration of Christine's life will be held on Saturday, April 1, 2023, at 12:30 p.m. at Arlington Woods Church, located at 225 McClellan Rd., Nepean, ON. A time of fellowship and refreshments will follow in the church's Evergreen Hall.
