To all members of Howard's family. I have known Howard since 2007 in our capacity as volunteers for Friends of Hospice Ottawa which is presently Hospice Care Ottawa. I can't say that I knew Howard well but I do feel that we both shared a mutual respect for each other. Personally, I admired Howard for his willingness to speak out and share his particular views on Hospice issues which was evidently inspired by his steadfast dedication to support and care for staff, volunteers and especially clients. It will probably take me a while before I will be able to accept that Howard is no longer physically present at Hospice, he was such a regular, comforting and vocal fixture there. If Howard's desire was to make a difference in the lives of others, he did more than his share.
Thank you Howard - you have done good!
