Obituary of Robert Thomas La Force
Robert (Bob) Thomas La Force (79 years of age), Passed away peacefully on May 28, 2023 in his home surrounded by his loved ones: his wife of 54 years Paulette (née Romain), his daughters Renée and Michelle (Jeff) and his grandchildren Avalon, Milla, Makenna, Hunter and Colton. He's lovingly remembered by his brothers and sisters-in-law: Peter (Marsha), Tim (Kim), and Terry (Hilary) and Gerry (deceased) as well as all his nieces, nephews, and friends.
Bob immigrated to Canada as a young child from Brighton, England which would be his first of many travels to come. Living in Australia, the U.S. and Canada and traveling to over 90 countries in his lifetime, he was an adventurous spirit. He had a love of music and played the drums in a traveling band during his younger years. Bob can also be best remembered for his intellect - we often joke that he was the original Google before it existed. As an Engineer, he was a well-respected innovator in his industry developing cutting-edge robotic technologies at the time. He had a great sense of humour and would joke that he was "Superman' - and he was.
He was a man of integrity, kindness and caring toward others with physical strength that was unparalleled. He was very active and could always be found on the tennis courts or on the golf range. In later years, his strength would be further exemplified surviving prostate cancer, a brain tumour, enduring 3 brain surgeries, as well as a fall that left him a quadriplegic to which he miraculously recovered a few months later. Even his doctors were surprised at his determination and at his full recovery. He would continue to experience ongoing, regular seizures that could break some spirits, but not him. His courage and positive mindset kept him strong, and he was truly an inspiration to those around him.
Bob - we love you and miss you and may 'La Force be with you on your new journey ahead.
A Celebration of Bob’s life will be held at Highland Park Cemetery, 2037 McGee Side Road, on Friday, June 2nd at 1:00 PM.

Bob - we love you and miss you and may 'La Force be with you on your new journey ahead.
