Obituary of Jean-Marc Viau

Devoted husband, loving father, and adoring grandfather Jean-Marc Viau passed peacefully on the morning of June 8, 2023 at the age of 80. Despite an extended stay in hospital, he remained authentically and unapologetically himself until the very end, and always managed to bring a laugh or a smile to those who cared so deeply for him.

He loved Elvis Presley, Johnny Cash, and Leonard Cohen, but he loved his wife, Norma; his children, Marc and Rachelle; his son-in-law, Patrick; and his grandson, Cayden most of all.

His life was filled with laughter, and his kind, gentle, and generous spirit will be profoundly missed.

Jean-Marc will be honoured with a Celebration of Life at Cole Funeral Services & Pinecrest Remembrance, 2500 Baseline Rd., Ottawa on Sunday June 18, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. followed immediately by a luncheon reception. With respect to his wife’s cultural tradition, the inclusion of a white piece of attire is encouraged, but not required. For those wishing, you may watch the service HERE.
