Obituary of Amale Koury
It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of our dear Amale Koury on June 15, 2023, at the age of 78 years. She passed away peacefully and surrounded by her loving family at the Queensway Carleton Hospital after a long battle with COPD.
Beloved wife of the late Frederick Koury. Devoted and loving mother of May, Katia, Lena (Antonio Pugliese) and Patricia (Damion Pilgrim).
Predeceased by her parents Violette and Assaad El Haber, her sister Najat Zeidan (late Nicholas Zeidan) and her brother Salah El Haber (Coleen).
Survived by her sisters Leila Ghandour (late Georges Ghandour), Ibtihaj Saade (late Georges Saadeh), Salwa Haber (late Tony Habr) and Inaam Saikaly (late Chafik Saikaly).
Amale will also be missed by the many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends from her beloved hometown of Wadi Chahrour Lebanon, Canada and all around the world.
Amale will be fondly remembered for her unwavering love, dedication and support to her family, her humour, her stories, her love of cooking and hosting, as well as her steadfast strength and willingness to live.
She left an unforgettable mark on everyone that met her, and her memory will be everlasting.
Family and friends may visit at the Pinecrest Visitation Centre, 2500 Baseline Road, Ottawa on Friday, June 23, 2023 from 11 a.m. until time of Funeral Service in the Chapel at 1 p.m. Private family interment at Pinecrest Cemetery. Reception to follow.
