Obituary of Túy Đa thi Kiêu
With profound sadness we announce that our mother, passed away peacefully at the Queensway Carleton hospital on the morning of July 21, 2023, due to diabetes and dementia.
Born in Đa lat city, Vietnam, March 10, 1943, she emigrated to Ottawa with her family, in 1992. A few years later, making a permanent family home in Bells Corners. Đa was the oldest of seven children born to Khuong and Cay (Vo) Kiểu. She is survived by her loving and devoted husband Hanh Le, daughter Đoan (husband Steven, child Thiên Ân), son Vũ,(wife Phượng, children Pierre, Colin, Akira, and Lucas), daughter Ly. Sadly, son Nguyen died age 27, January 6, 2000.
As did many people from this region and time, she endured much hardship but always kept a happy disposition and ensured her family was well loved, cared and provided for. Đa saw Canada as a chance to begin a new life and better future for her children. Throughout her life, she kept in close touch with overseas relatives.
She shared 45 loving years of marriage with Hanh. Together they met, overcame and thrived in many of lives challenges. Sharing a love of travel, a memorable cruise on the Mediterranean was a highlight. A beautiful lady, she enjoyed dressing well and always looking her best.
She was a supporter and member of the local Buddhist community. An avid fan of all sports she was a passionate and proud supporter of the Ottawa Senators.
A Prayer Servcie will take place at the Pinecrest Visitation Centre, 2500 Baseline Road, Ottawa on Tuesday, July 25, 2023 at 10 a.m. followed by visitation from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. For those who wish to join the service virtually you may do so using this Service Link.
The family sends their heartfelt thanks to the doctors, nurses and staff of the QCH hospital for providing superior care and comfort these past few months.
