Obituary of Juanita Louise Makila (MacGregor)

Passed away suddenly on July 22, 2022, at the age of 90. 

Predeceased by her parents  Robert MacGregor and Gerda Carr of Parrsboro, Nova Scotia, her husband  Alex Makila.  She is survived by her children Nancy, Brian (Johanne Jacob), Allan (Rebecca), and Deborah,  her sister Sheila Johnson (née MacGregor), and nieces and nephews.

Juanita was a devoted wife and mother with boundless energy and a fiercely independent spirit. She loved her family, the “camp”, golf, curling and driving. She served the Malartic/Val-d’Or community in a variety of ways and retired to North Bay, Florida and the camp, ultimately settling in Ottawa.

Family and friends are invited to join us in a celebration of life for both Juanita and her daughter Debbi on Thursday, August 17, at the Pinecrest Reception Centre, 2500 Baseline Road from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM.
