Dear Sanya
I sat next door to Michael when the CNSC had offices at the Telesat building. Through our daily interactions I got to know him well and learnt so much from him. His candid perspectives on our work mixed with his great sense of humor always made for wonderful conversations. I loved his way of explaining the intricacies of the legal questions by using analogies, sometimes a stretch but always with a point that he got to. I will never forget him. From my earliest days at the CNSC I remember immediately seeing how Mike's great legal knowledge was balanced wonderfully with his wit and humour. It was my honour and pleasure to work with MIke on a number of important files. Mike was unique: Whipsmart, always thinking outside the box, collegial and incredibly funny. Michael was always a great source of legal advice and wisdom during the time I worked with him at the CNSC. He was always eager to help and very easy to approach.
