Dear Dana, Mike, Phil, Paul and families,
Our deepest condolences on the loss of our dear Elaine. Our memories of good times spent together will be with us always. RIP my dearest and oldest friend. I will miss you until we meet again! Love Eveline and Rolly xoxo
My Bestie, Elaine!
Where do I start?
What do I say?
Who would believe?
At the end of the day?
We met in Grade 2
I was new to this land
You came to say ‘hi’
I reached out my hand.
A friendship was born
In an instant at school
As classmates that year
I thought you were cool.
Then came Grade 3
And 4 the same year
Queen Mary we christened
Together with cheer.
You moved ‘round the corner
And oh what a thrill
To have you close by
And partake in your drill.
Pass the mop, clean the plates,
Peel the ‘taters for fries
Feed the boys, make their lunch
Then lock them outside.
We grabbed skates in the winter
Your twirls were first class
I fell on your skate blade
And flat on my ass.
We sang in the choir,
Then joined the patrol
With Elmer the elephant
He was such a good soul.
With tickets to movies
And bowling lanes too
The perks of patrol
That were given to you.
Then came the sad news
We’re moving away
Out to the boonies
They forced me to stay.
No chance to see Rideau
‘‘Twas Hillcrest for me
I missed my Elaine
My family could see.
Thank God for my dad
Who gave her a job
Spent Saturdays together
With Carlingwood’s mob.
Then came my wedding
Another great scene
My Matron of Honour
Beside Mr. Clean!
The long walk for millions
Now that was a hoot
When we hit Britannia
We gave that one the boot.
Racing from Corrie’s
Pissed out of our minds
Dodged every cop
And drunk driving fines.
Then there came Dana
Her Dolly, her love
Her angel forever
Sent from above.
Soon out popped our Lisa
The two were fast buds
While the pox lurked to jump them
From bubble bath suds.
So many memories
Too great is the list
I love this dear woman
I’m totally pissed.
I’ve never been mushy
So what can I say
I’ll love you Elaine
‘Til my dying day.

Steph and I are so sorry to hear of Elaine’s passing. The love and pride she had for her “Dolly”, was so special to see. There were a lot of laughs over the years and we will think back on those and smile. You have one dedicated angel watching over you now. Sending our love and most sincere condolences to you all. Mwah xx

Elaine was my friend for more than 52 years and I can say that we were kindred spirits.
Even though we lived far apart we made a point to stay in touch throughout the years. I am heart broken but I know that she is in a better place. I am going to miss her terribly but just before her passing she promised to watch over me. RIP Dee Dee.
