Obituary of Gary Fraser Lewis

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Gary Fraser Lewis. He died peacefully on October 23, 2023. He will be lovingly remembered by his wife and best friend, Francesca Hernandez. Gary was the loving father of his two sons, Scott (Michelanne) and Kevin (Lezlie). Grampy will be deeply missed by his four grandchildren, Alex, Christopher, Lily, and Georgia. Gary was also the loving stepfather to Samantha (Jason) and Stefanie (Jonathan). His six step grandchildren, Sebastian, Benjamin, Charlotte, Isla, Eva, and Sadie will miss Grandpa Gary and his golf shirts. He will forever be remembered by his sisters, Brenda (Steven) and Coreen (Eric), and their children. Gary was predeceased by his parents, Doreen and Corey; his sisters, Sandy and Beverly.

Gary served in the Canadian Armed Forces from 1966 to 1977. He also had a very successful career in the Federal Public Service from 1977 to 2006. Gary had a great sense of humor and wit. He enjoyed a good laugh while on the golf course. He was always cheering on the Ottawa Senators, despite the season. He loved traveling and reading. It is with great heartache that we say goodbye to such a wonderful man. He will be missed by his friends, family, and his dog, Holly.

A Celebration of Gary’s life will be held at the Pinecrest Remembrance Chapel on Friday, November 10th at 10:30 a.m.
