Obituary of Gail Galley (nee Haymond)

It is with deep sorrow we announce the passing of our loving mother Gail who peacefully passed away on December 9, 2023 at Saint-Vincent hospital, Ottawa.

Gail was born in Montreal, Quebec in 1943. She will be reunited with her beloved husband of 61 years, Michael. During her lifetime Gail was not only a loving wife, mother and friend, she was a highly respected employee at the Ottawa Citizen for over 20 years as their paymaster. She loved to dance and was a fierce hockey mom.

Gail is survived by her three children Keith (Lynn), Darla and Garry (Terry-Lynn). Cherished grandmother (Nanny) to Amy, Shaylynn, Kelsey, Wyatt, Jessie and Blake; Overjoyed great grandmother to Sadie and Peyton.

Gail will be missed dearly by her family and friends and was so appreciative of time spent with her caregiver, Christine.

Rest in peace Mum.

There will be no formal funeral services. A private family gathering will be held for Gail’s interment at Highland Park Cemetery, Carp, Ontario.
