Obituary of Elmer Adam Greene

Elmer left this earth for a better place to join his dear departed wife Alice, daughter, Margaret-Ann, mother, Ethel, father, Wilbert, brothers Eric, Everett, and sister, Doris. He is survived by his loving daughter Julie (Tony Hutchinson), son Richard, grandchildren Mandy (Jeff Lavictoire), Angela (Andy Hassan), Katie (Mitch Leroux) and his great-grand children Logan, Gabriel, Maya and Annabelle. Elmer was the former owner of Greene's Garage, past-president of the Ontario Garage Operators Association and a founding member of the Ottawa Valley Senior Men's Curling Association. Throughout his career, Elmer worked tirelessly to improve automotive safety and service standards, including advocacy for mandatory seat belts, participation in establishing Ontario's advanced automotive apprenticeship program at Algonquin College and many other improvements in automotive industry. Visitation will take place on Friday, March 1, 2024, from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the Service at 11:00 a.m. in Pinecrest Remembrance Chapel, 2500 Baseline Road, Ottawa, Ontario. Interment and reception to follow. In lieu of flowers, friends and family are invited to make a donation to the Heart & Stroke Foundation, Alzheimer's Society or a charity of choice.
