Obituary of Cheryl McCooeye
It is with profound sadness the family must announce that Cheryl Lee McCooeye has lost her battle against cancer
Cheryl passed away peacefully May 3 2024 under the attentive and understanding care of the compassionate doctors, nurses and support staff at Saint-Vincent Hospital in Ottawa Ontario
Cheryl will forever be remembered as a generous, thoughtful and tireless daughter, sister, cousin, aunt, friend and co worker who was always available with an infectious laugh and open heart
Cheryl also had a deep love for animals and nature as proven by her years of pet sitting and many trips to the beautiful and natural places across Canada
Lest we forget Cheryl also worked 20+ years for the Government of Canada where she rose to the top of her field and made life long friends
On top of the above generosities Cheryl also courageously battled Crohns Disease WHILE being primary caregiver for our ailing mother Donna in her hour of need
In all Cheryl did she gave freely of herself and worked very hard. Truly an inspiration for us all
A Celebration of Life will be held Friday May 10 2024 from 2 to 4pm at Pinecrest Rememberance, #2500 Baseline Road Ottawa Ontario
There will be no graveside service as per Cheryls request
Many thanks to all the doctors, nurses, support staff, family and friends who helped Cheryl fight this terrible disease
In lieu of flowers please consider a donation to
The Cancer Society, Crohns and Colitis Canada or your local animal shelter
Rest in Peace our dear, sweet Cheryl
