Obituary of Milica Djukic

Our family is sad to share that Milica Djukic has passed away at the age of 92 after a brief illness. Milica was born in Bijelo Polje, Montenegro, emigrating to Canada in 1971 where she settled in Ottawa, working at the Ottawa Civic Hospital for over 25 years. In her latter years, she was a devoted volunteer at the Parkdale Food Bank. Milica had a strong, free spirit and deep love of her Montenegrin culture, especially its songs and dances, and lived a rich life full of friends and family.

She is survived by her daughters Nina Bruncevic and Dulka McLellan (Rob), grandsons Chris Porter (Jen), Jason Porter (Dorina), Derek McLellan (Breanne) and Najja Browne, and great grandchildren Madison and Everett.

Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Cole Funeral Services. A celebration of life will be held on Tuesday, May 28 at 11:00 am at the Pinecrest Chapel, 2500 Baseline Road Ottawa.

In lieu of flowers donations to the Parkdale Foodbank would be appreciated.
