Obituary of Joan Theresa Hiscocks

July 5, 1929 - March 31, 2024

 

Joan passed away peacefully at Extendicare Starwood on March 31,  2024 in her sleep at the age of 94. Beloved wife of the late Earl J. Hiscocks and dear friend to Amanda! 

 

Joan enjoyed being outdoors. She would spend countless hours out there sweeping, gardening, chit chatting with her neighbours and handing out treats to her furry little friends. 

 

Joan also looked forward to her shopping adventures and lunch dates with Amanda. They would spend half the day out and about shopping at her favourite stores and finally ending up at one of her favourite restaurants for a “piping hot cup of coffee”, and her favourite meal.

 

And upon arriving at Starwood at the age of 89, Joan made it known to everyone there that she was the “Sobey’s lady”! It was her favourite store. 

 

A special thanks to the most AMAZING staff at Starwood for their dedicated care and compassion. Thank you for making Joan’s time at Starwood so memorable and for giving her the most beautiful send off.

 

You truly are earth’s special angels. 

 

Joan will be missed dearly by Amanda. Amanda was blessed to inherit Joan as 3rd grandmother. 

 

She will also be missed by her special friend Doreen and by her Starwood family and friends. 

 

Memorial donations can be made to the Dementia/Alzheimer’s Society or to any Animal Hospital/Shelter in memory of Joan.
