Obituary of Donald Gardner

Don passed away peacefully July 17th 2024 with a good sense of humor, surrounded by family at the Ottawa Civic Hospital.

Born on Victoria Island, Don grew up in the LeBreton Flatts in Ottawa where he met a lot of the friends he would keep in contact with up until his passing. Don was predeceased by his parents, Thomas and Marguerite, his sisters Shirley and Carol and his beloved wife Claudette (nee Bilodeau)

Brother to Ken and Ted, Don is survived by his sons Chris and Graydon, daughter laws Kelly and Cindy and grandchildren Nolan, Reid, Taleah, and Liam.

Don "Whitey" was known to many for his good sense of humor and compassion for animals. A pivotal member of the Ottawa construction industry, he made a large impact on the infrastructure in the city he was born and forged some lifelong relationships.

A big supporter of Ottawa sports Don could be found coaching baseball, football, or judging a boxing match.  Don always enjoyed a good day at the ball park or football field. An avid Ottawa Senators fan and a big supporter of the Ottawa Redblacks (Rough Riders). Don always made sure people who were in need got a ticket to a game.

At Don's request, in lieu of flowers a donation to the Humane Society would be greatly appreciated.
