Obituary of Gregory Bruce Anderson

1959 – 2024

Bruce passed peacefully, with his “J” and his family by his side, on Thursday, August 15, 2024. Son of the late Geoffrey and Norma C. (Hartnett), son in law of Betty Anne Hart, and the late Kenneth Hart. He leaves behind his loving wife of 31 years, Jill Elizabeth Johnston (nee Hart), his brother George Anderson (Kimberley) and sister Kathie McHale (the late Tom). He will also be fondly remembered by his nephews Kurt DesRoches, and Michael McHale (Becky Nugent) as well as his great nephew Thomas Michael McHale. Brother-in-law to Tom Hart (Leslie), Bonny Fleury (James Barry) and Judy Goobie (Ron). Bruce was uncle, great uncle, and great great uncle to many. Golfing, the Dallas Cowboys, Bobby Orr, and the Boston Bruins were important to him, golf games good or bad, he always said “that’s why I pay to play, I’m not paid to play!”

A special thank you to Tanya for being there, as well as the Emergency and Palliative Care team at the Queensway Carleton Hospital.  We also want to mention the continued support from family, friends and neighbors, thank you all.

In lieu of flowers, donations to the Ottawa Humane Society or the Queensway Carleton Hospital would be greatly appreciated.  As per Bruce’s wishes, no service will be held.
