Obituary of Heather Ila Backs

It is with great sadness and heavy hearts that we announce the peaceful passing of Heather Ila Backs, aged 84 on October 3, 2024. Born on January 27^th, 1940, in Ottawa, she was a loving wife, mother, and friend who touched the lives of everyone she met with her warmth and positivity.

Heather is now reunited with her beloved husband, Ronald and son, Gregory, where we imagine them enjoying the sweet sounds of jazz in the streets of New Orleans, sharing laughter, music, and a cold drink in hand.

She leaves behind a legacy of love through her surviving family members, including her son Neil (Mary), her daughter Joanne (Trevor) and her cherished grandchildren Brett, Curtis, Kianna and Tommy.

Her spirit, kindness, and zest for life will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.

A celebration of her life will be held at Pinecrest Visitation Centre, 2500 Baseline Road, Ottawa on Saturday, November 2, at 11:00 am followed by a reception, where we will remember the joy and music she brought into our lives.

She will be deeply missed but fondly remembered as she dances in eternity with her loved ones.
