It is with great sadness that I learn of the passing of Mr. Pullen. Always Mr. Pullen to me even though he tried to coerce me into calling him Kit at every turn. I was at Queen’s with daughter Carolyn and she introduced me into the Pullen fold, such a lovely place to be. I got to know Mr. Pullen pretty well, listened to opera with him, paddled with him and zoomed around in his prized Daimler. He “ringed” me as a graduating engineer, a great honour that he would do so. I have never once taken my iron ring off, MRIs be damned! The last time it was put on my finger, it was the experienced hands of Mr. Pullen that did it. I think of him often when I look at this ring and will always do so. For me he is not gone and never will be. For his family, the passing of time will slowly erase the more challenging times you’ve all been through leaving the good and plentiful memories, this I can guarantee. I’ll think of him often as I already do, and this is a very good thing.
