Obituary of Laureen Fortner

Laureen passed away in her sleep on Thursday, November 14, 2024 after a long illness at the Ottawa General Hospital. She was born as Laureen Eilane Cunningham on October 16, 1968. Her surviving relatives have not yet been located. For many years her true friends became her family.

She was predeceased by her birth mother whose memory she honoured every December and from whom she inherited her love of cats. She persevered through difficult periods in her life while maintaining a unique sense of humour. She was always willing to help friends and acquaintances when she could although sometimes patience has its limits even for an angel. She was laid to rest under the falling snow on Wednesday December 4, 2024. She will be missed.
