It is with great sadness for the family that I extend my sincerest condolences. Laurie Jean was a blessing in my life especially during my six years in Ottawa. Her and Russel and back then their new baby girl, were great friends and wonderful company. It was such a joy to share in their happiness whenever we got together. Watching the funeral today and listening to Russel speak about the love of his life was heartbreaking because we all know how great his loss is. Laurie Jean was filled with life and love and this is such a profound loss for all who had the absolute pleasure of knowing her. My heart broke when I first heard she had cancer and I prayed that she would be able to survive it. The last time I was in Ottawa in 2009 she came out to give me support at an event and brought Adrianna - it was so wonderful to have had that time together. I've attached a picture of that very fond memory of Laurie and hold dear the precious time that I had the absolute pleasure of spending with her . Knowing Laurie and Russel enriched my life ! I cannot put into words the profound sadness I feel for all who had the joy of having her in their lives. Sincerest Heartfelt Condolences......... Cindy Usypchuk
