Obituary of Walter Stenger

It is with great sadness that our family announces the passing of Walter Stenger on October 31st at the age of 94. Predeceased by his wife Friedl, brothers Emil and Hermann. Beloved brother-in-law to Anna. Loving father of Christl Stenger-Elmas (Hy), Peter (Janet) and Dorothy Ardley (Steve). Dearly loved Opa of Erik, Kristian, Sonya, Aisha, Maia and Calli. Fondly remembered by his nieces and nephews in Germany, United States and New Zealand. Born in Germany in 1927, Walter came to Canada in 1954 after surviving great trauma. He was BauMeister by trade and truly a Builder of Ottawa. His company Uniform Developments continues with his passion for excellence in design and construction. He will be sorely missed. Always wanting to help, friendly and inquisitive, he loved to engage people. Everyone who met him remembers his intelligence and wit. We would like to thank all the Caregivers: Melinda, Fe, Christine, Loryjane, May, Gee and many more. As well Dr. Patrick Blake who always gave the best of love and care. A Private Family Service and burial were held. A Celebration of Life will follow at a later date. In memory of Walter a donation to The Dementia Society of Ottawa and Renfrew County would be appreciated.
