Adam man I’ve tried writing this serval times but there’s no easy way to express how I feel towards you. There are no words on how much you have impacted my life brother.. from the first day of high school we were drawn together. Ever since then the laughs and memories have continued to grow and build. You are one of my closes and best friend brother one that has never switched up on me never lied to me and always told me what I needed to hear even if I didn’t wanna hear it! Your family has welcomed me into their homes ever since we have met and your family is a true testament of the man you are. Beautiful, stoic, standup person with such a big heart for anyone that crossed paths with you, who anyone would want in their corner. Deano I miss you and will carry you with me forever pal! My job here isnt done but if you could carry on with me and bless everyone around I’d forever be in gratitude my man! May you rest easy and the fishin be the best yet! Love you brother forever! Adam and I met in high school and continued being friends over the years. He geared me up when he worked at Tommy and we would go on road trips and quiet drives anywhere from Montreal for a weekend or just around Kanata. We ripped around in go carts, played In the sand at Constance Bay Beach or just lounged and watched movies. He was always complex, thoughtful and multi-dimensional. We lost touch for a number of years but in the last eight years or so when he was starting his kayak fishing journey solo he inspired me to canoe fish by myself. We shared fish pictures and stories and exchanges good spots. I don't know a lot of people that fished by themselves and he made me believe I'd be OK alone when I saw his catches. He was always so pumped about my walleye and I was thrilled about his cool catches. Adam had a sweet way about him to make you feel like the only person that mattered when he spoke to you. Attending his service and seeing the overwhelming amount of people in attendance - many whom I knew over the years because of Adam, made me hope that he knew just how special he was. I hope he knew how cherished he was by everyone he met and every person that met him was blessed by his amazing nature - kind, funny, thoughtful and sweet. He was the kind of guy that charged everyone's social and emotional battery when he was near. All my best to his family and friends who we loved so much.

I had the honour of getting to know Adam closely during the years 2010-2014 when I lived in Ottawa. We met through one of my great friends and roommates in university. Adam would come over frequently, and each time would bring so much energy and light into our home. He had an infectious smile, a positive light, and was always cracking jokes and laughing. I can still picture it. I shared many wonderful memories with Adam and will always remember his generosity and kindness, his silliness, and our late-night conversations. My sincerest condolences to the Deane family and to everyone that loved him.

Trevor and I were so saddened to see the obituary from Saturday that I just saw today.
It was a joy to coach Adam and I know Trevor so enjoyed playing on his team.
We will remember him as such a special, multi talented leader and friend to all.
He was such an amazing individual and was one of those rare people who seemed to be great at anything they put their mind to.
We are so sorry for your loss..

I had the pleasure of meeting Adam through one of my best friends Emily Baker. We lived together during our university years when she was very close with him. Adam would often stay over on the weekends and we would all hang out together Friday and Saturday nights and likely be going to see a cool new DJ that Adam introduced us to. He always loved music and I admired that about him. It wasn’t long after until Adam became the DJ himself that we were going out to watch downtown Ottawa.
My heart goes out to Adams family during this difficult time. He will be missed dearly.

Just heard about Adam's passing & we wanted to say we are so incredibly sorry & we are thinking about Tom & Nancy & the rest of the family during this tragic time.
We wish that there was a magic word or gesture that we could offer to lift some of heartache to bring even just a sliver of solace.
I hadn’t seen him in a good handful of years, and remember toddler Adam from the Salter pool and then pre-teen Adam from Milne. Reading others’ posts makes me think he’d grown up to be a fine, lovely young man - as sweet and as kind as his parents are.
Our hearts go out to you all -

The tributes to Adam from his friends and family at his Celebration of Life made it clear that he was a special person. The stories that were shared illuminated the depth of his character and the breadth of his caring. I only knew Adam from brief encounters when he, Tom and his Grandfather (my brother) came to fish at our cottage. I spoke briefly with him at different times and came away learning of his passion for his craft. To Tom, Nancy, Emily and extended family, remember that he is now with an equally ardent fisherman, his Grandfather. Smile because undoubtedly there will be some tall fish tales.

I wanted to start off by Thanking Tom, Nancy, and Emily for allowing Adam’s friends to attend his beautiful celebration of life. Even under the most unfortunate of circumstances, you honoured his life and spirit so perfectly.
Adam and I went to Elementary school together, so I’ve known him the majority of my life. Many of the memories Emily shared, were exactly as I remembered him. That little mischievous laugh was so infectious. Adam, Tristan and Dan, the 3 musketeers looking for someone to prank and always finding themselves in trouble and thinking it was hilarious. (Although it was hilarious)
I’ll never forget the time my younger brother kicked his shoe over the school yard fence, and Adam and Tristan thought it would be funny to say they burnt it. So my mother marched over knocking at the door yelling at Tom, and Adam’s little head peeking around the corner.
I started a family at 21 years old, and didn’t get out as much to see old friends, but Adam was never shy to respond to my social media posts, and of course be laughing his head off at any pranks my kids or husband would pull.
Adam, you are being grieved hard, missed dearly, and your memories will be cherished for a lifetime.
My deepest condolences to the Deane family.

An absolute stand up guy and one of the most intelligent people I’ve ever met. I can’t even begin to share the countless good times we had growing up because there were so many. My condolences to you and your family on the loss of your son. Adam was a true stand up guy. He was always there for his friends. During the time i had with Adam we shared a great passion for fishing which is hard to come by. He was always up for the adventure and would do literally anything to get the next BIGGUN in the boat. Adam was a loyal friend who never said no to helping me at my shop. Even when he had plans on a Saturday, adam would still be a man of his word and take the time to get a job done with me. He was a perfectionist, and his sense of humour made working overtime fun. Adam n I were always quick to fire off whatever immature one liners at eachother we could. I think that’s what I am going to miss the most. We always laughed in good spirit over one another. Excited to see eachother, our sense of humours matched and it made hard work days and a tough job go by easier . This pic was taken from Adams drone as we rode the KnP trail my side by side. Adam maxed out the height his drone would fly for it lol. I could go on forever. But simply put the song Hardy - “give heaven some hell” on. Those lyrics are yours to a T brother. Check up on us at the shop. Till we meet again

Deano my guy,
My first memories of you are in grade 7 when I transferred to All Saints from Huntley and knew very few people. There are very few people that are able to stand out in a class of 300 new kids but you were absolutely one of them. You had this insane energy that radiated to everyone you surrounded yourself with. It’s the kind of energy that drew people in because you knew you were going to have a good time when Deano was around.
In the last couple years of highschool we discovered a shared love of music. It led us to countless shows together. We were always posting new music on each others Facebook walls, and you even took up producing/editing tunes for a short time. Hearing those tracks for the first time was awesome, and listening to them again in the last couple days shook my core memories like nothing else ever has.
You were the guy that was always down to join me whether it was for a trip to MTL or a rave in the middle of the woods. If you were down it didn’t matter to me if anyone else wanted to go. We had big plans to travel and see some global festivals, and I hope to make that happen in your memory. I’ll be thinking of you every time I see a headline act but it won’t be the same without you. Miss you man.

I can’t even begin to articulate what Adam Deane meant to me. From the first moment I saw him on the path behind all saints in grade ten, I knew he was special. He remains to this day the only guy I ever stopped dead in my tracks for when I saw him. We met when we went to Quebec City, and he tried to pursue me but at the time I didn’t believe he was serious because, well, I felt like a loser and he was one of the most popular guys at our school. I’ll never forget the first time we hung out alone.
We went to the tanning salon (lol?) and I was waiting for you for over half an hour, and thought that you had ditched me and left before I had gotten out of my bed. Finally I asked the employee if you had left, and we knocked on the room and found you passed out in the tanning bed. We would have many other moments of degeneracy over the years, and shared so many firsts and so many lasts together. You held my hand through the darkest times in my life and I don’t know that I would have made it out without you. I’ll never forget the days we wouldn’t leave your bed in your parents basement, watching scary movies and only leaving to go to the bathroom, summon Abbey or make nachos. We always said that we were the only two people in the world and that everyone else was an NPC (non person character). You understand me like no one else ever has, and I have never felt a connection to another human like I did to you. I’m so happy you got to know me again these past few years, and finally saw me become the person you always knew I was, and wanted me to be. I know you’re proud of me and I hope you know how proud I always have been of you. You taught me so much about life and love, and now about death. Adam I can’t even begin to describe the void I feel now that you’re gone. It feels like all the memories we made, all those moments in space and time, I carry by myself now. It kills me to know that I’m going to go on in life, and do so many things that I’ll never get to share with you. It hate that you’ll never meet my kids, you’ll never go to my wedding ( that poor bastard I know) and I’ll never get to the same for you.
Despite all of this, I’m also so happy that I get to have these memories of you. That I got to spend so much time with you, and share so much life and love with you.
I’ll keep your secrets forever, and I’m writing down our secret language so I never forget it. Loublou ding. I’ll never forget you.
Tom, Nancy, Emily, Barb, Lola. my thoughts are with you and I am always available for anything you need. Thank you for giving us Adam. I feel so lucky to have been a part of his life, and have him been such a huge part of mine. He’s with abbey now, and she’s doing the wave :)
All my love,

Mr Adam Deane…
Handsome, hilarious, and the silliest human being. Always looking for a laugh.
What a thrill it was being your friend… and having shared really phenomenal moments together. You were always there for deep conversations, or more simple ones. I spent many years, and birthdays with you, from ages 14-23. From grade 9, having you make fun of my laugh at every moment possible. Telling me “I bellow”. Made me laugh even harder. When you would get Vanessa and I both going - we could literally never stop.
From house parties, to Tremblant Grad trip, to picking you up in Kanata and just driving around town - with nowhere to go, and nothing to do. Other than tell stories and laugh.
We spent a lot of time together, and when I reminisce I realize that throughout the years - we shared countless immeasurable moments. I am forever grateful for you, and what you taught me - and all of our friends.
You are deeply missed. But I know your soul is still here, guiding all that you love. That your wild spirit and gentle loving soul continues to have a massive impact on all of us. You are so loved. You are so special. And forever in our minds and hearts. Love you forever.

Deano, my man. We met in grade 8 so that would have made us 13 & 14 (I was a year older cause I failed a grade oops). And I’ll never forget your amazing smile & laugh it drew me to you like a moth to a flame. We became instant friends. We maybe got ourselves in some trouble growing up? Lol but it was worth every minute. You were my best friend & we went to prom together in grade 12, you were the best prom date a girl could ask for. You were always an amazing person to everyone around you, pure, kind, loving, funny, loyal. But didn’t take any shit from nobody. You stood your ground when needed. We talked about music, movies, serial killer documentaries (our favourite) for hoursssss. You were my favourite person to talk to about those things cause I knew you watched all the docs just like me lol. There’s a second Monster season coming out I can’t WAIT for about the menendez brothers!! I know you’ll be watching with me when it comes out!
This past December I lost my beloved dog Bruce & you comforted me & were there for me beyond words. I know how much you loved Abbey too. I’m so happy we were able to stay friends for nearly 20 years. You have touched many hearts & lives & have left such an impact on this world Adam. You know I love you so much. I've known Adam for the better part of my life. We grew up together wrestling on the beach, skipping classes in high school (sorry guys) and I always loved the suprise of running into him fishing on the beach the most. In his natural habitat and at peace. We watched each other grow up, he was the type of friend that was always supportive and proud of his people. No matter how much time had passed since we last saw each other it always felt like no time had passed at all. Someone you knew if you really needed him he would show up. The last time I saw him was a couple weeks ago, we went golfing. The first time I've seen him be bad at a sport. To be fair he was always better at things that required brute strength. I think he lost 3 balls and his cellphone on the front 9 nine. We laughed and we had fun. We talked about life and we huged goodbye. I'm grateful for that moment. Rest in peace Adam.

I was shocked to see the news of Adam's passing. What can one say? I can only hope that you cherish the memories and that his memory will be a blessing to you. It's been such a long time since we moved away but we have such wonderful memories of Adam and of you taking joy in his accomplishments at such a young age. I hope that you have much support and will seek support to help you cope with this tragedy.

I remember you desperately wanted our little timid dog Heidi to like you and I think she gave into your sweet calm and gentle nature. I’m so grateful to have mountain biked with you, following you down the trails at Camp Fortune, and sessions at Centrum. I will always remember your sense of humour and kindness. My deepest condolences to the Deane family. ❤️

I had known Adam for long enough to know that he was one of the best of us. The first to help whatever you needed he was the man , be it grungy work or just a good laugh. Loved to fish and was a dam good cook. The world is a little less bright without your bright light in it my friend.
May the road rise up to meet you, may the wind be always at your back, may the sun always shine warm upon your face until we meet again my friend, good journey.

Dear Mrs. and Mr. Deane,
I am truly sorry for your loss of Adam. I have several fond memories of Adam. One that comes to mind shows how thoughtful and helpful he was.
It was a very snowy evening few winters ago, and I was having difficulty shovelling my driveway as the snow was deep and heavy. Adam was driving by on Shaughnessy Cres in Kanata and got out of his car, didn't ask if I needed help and started shovelling with his own shovel. He also always had a smile for me whenever our paths crossed.
My deepest heartfelt condolences to you and your family.
Sincerely
Lisa Baker -

Adam, it’s been years my brother but I’ll always remember you for your energetic spirit and fearlessness. You had ambition like no other and had a unique ability of mastering whatever it was you were focused on. I’ll never forget the birthday parties at the Oz Dome. You were a great friend to many and your loyalty to those friends knew no bounds. Rest in peace bro, I’ll be praying for you and your family.
Yours,
Mike Near

Still remember the first time we met when you came to pick up ice cream from my cash at loblaws so many years ago. I literally froze in place thinking “wow he’s cute” and didn’t know what to do or say. I’m so happy and grateful though to have actually gotten to know you as a person these past few years. What an incredible guy and amazing friend. It’s inspiring to see just how many people’s lives you’ve impacted in such a profound and positive way. My thoughts are with your family and all of your loved ones. Gone absolutely way too soon. ❤️
