Obituary of Icyline Thompson

It is with sorrow, yet growing peacefulness that we announce the passing of Icyline Thompson into the presence of her Lord on September 16, 2023, surrounded by family. 

Born in Bellas Gate, Jamaica, 1931, Icyline immigrated to Toronto in the late 50’s to further her career in nursing.

Loving mother of Anne Holness and Leon Richins (Roberta). Cherished grandmother of Brenna, Tyana, Rejoyce, and Jahlisa.  Dear sister to Shirley, Monica, Cherry (deceased).  Loving cousin of June (Cody). She also leaves behind an extended family including nieces, nephews, and many friends she loved dearly.

Icyline will be remembered for her trusting faith, entrepreneurial spirit, and her nurturing of family, community, and beloved gardens.

Deepest gratitude to Champlain Home and Community Care and her Palliative Care Team for providing support and comfort in her most needed hours.

In accordance with Icyline’s wishes, a private remembrance ceremony will be held to celebrate her life.
