Obituary of Brenda-Joyce Manor
With profound sadness, we announce the passing of Brenda-Joyce Manor, a cherished, daughter, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, who left us suddenly on Sunday January 12th at the age of 74. Brenda’s unwavering strength, compassion, and love touched everyone fortunate enough to know her.
Born in Ottawa to Harry and Irene Pullen(Cain), Brenda was a shining example of resilience. Born with a form of spina bifida, she faced life’s challenges with quiet strength and grace—so much so that few would have ever known the hurdles she overcame. Her determination was a source of inspiration to all who knew her.
Brenda enjoyed a fulfilling career with The Ottawa Citizen, where she built lasting friendships and made meaningful contributions before retiring. In her retirement, she devoted herself wholeheartedly to helping raise her five beloved grandchildren, (Hunter, Keagan, Katie, Annika and Carson) who were the light of her life. Brenda also had a deep love for her nine cherished grand-fur babies (Jo-Jo, Asker, Jack, Ally, Charlie, Scooby, Rueben, Daisy and Beanie), who brought her endless joy and comfort.
She is survived by her brother Harry Pullen, son Jason Manor, daughter Cindy Manor (Marc Soubliere), grandchildren Hunter Knight, Keagan Knight, Katie Manor, Annika Manor and Carson Kennedy, all of whom will forever hold her memory close and strive to reflect the love and resilience she so effortlessly shared.
Family and friends are invited from 1:00 p.m. until the time of the Celebration of Life at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, January 21, 2025 at Pinecrest Remembrance Chapel, 2500 Baseline Road, Ottawa. A reception will follow. Family and friends are welcome to share in remembrance of a woman whose love knew no bounds. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Brenda’s memory to the Dave Smith Youth Treatment Centre, honoring her spirit of volunteerism love and compassion. Online condolences may be made at colefuneralservices.com.
Brenda’s strength, love, and gentle soul will live on in the hearts of all who loved her.
May she rest in eternal peace.
